Summer Update!!
Whew! It has been a busy Spring and early Summer. I have worked with many happy couples to make their wedding receptions, and in some cases their wedding ceremony, events to remember for a lifetime. I am filling up very quickly for September and October. There are a few dates available but don't procrastinate! Use the availability checker first then send me an email.
I can truly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my weddings so far this year. Each one has been different. The cool aspect of weddings on the Outer Banks is that people from many different cultures are all drawn to this one place. I get the chance to experience these cultural differences as I share in their special day. It is also great to be around happy people, no matter where they are from. Of course it is my goal to draw from that joy and create a soundtrack for each couple that matches their unique personalities.
Nearly every couple has taken advantage of the tools I offer to help with music selection. These tools ensure I have the necessary information available to set the perfect moods for each of distinct segment of the event. Most receptions have a cocktail portion, and dinner portion, the special songs/dances and the dance party portion. With any DJ you should be able to discuss your needs for each segment of the reception so you get exactly what you want. For example many couples will give me the style of music they would prefer for the cocktail and dinner portions but go into greater detail for the dance tunes. Some have provided detailed lists for each. There is no "right" way to plan your music. I work with each couple to find out what works for them. The online tools I offer make it very easy to pick the perfect music for your reception. There are also lists available as idea starters for the first dances, garter toss, cake cutting, etc.
Several couples have used a new tool that allow wedding guests to build their request list. These songs can be used in addition of the songs you request. You can still submit "do not play" list to maintain a bit of control if you wish. Check out this and all of the online tools the OBX DJ has to offer!
